New York Fashion Week: Carlos Campos S/S ’14

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that is so Carlos Campos just wrote several thousand novels with his Spring 2014 Men’s collection.

Honduras native Campos grew up with tailoring in his blood. After graduating college at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Campos worked on several Broadway costume productions including “Jersey Boys,” “A Light in the Piazza” and more. Campos’ background in tailoring and theatrics shine in his Spring 2014 Men’s collection.

The understated color scheme of this collection allows the simple prints and clean, professional lines to speak for themselves.

Originally known for suits, Campos’ collection also showcases ready to wear pieces like shorts, sweaters, jackets and button ups—all meticulously crafted with a clear passion behind them. The collection showcased sophistication and polish, inspired by his love for soccer.

Aside from the pieces standing alone, the styling Campos has done shows he has an eye for more than just singular pieces sitting on a mannequin. He looks at the image as a whole.

Our favorite outfit from Campos has to be the all white and print shorts and matching jacket with a white polo layered under the jacket. That outfit paired with the dark knee-high tube socks is pure genius and allows the eyes to see the whole ensemble by having them travel and settling at places throughout the garments.
