Thom Browne Aoyama: An Inside Look

Since the brand’s debut in 2001, Thom Browne has since then continued to revolutionize menswear in how it is presented amongst men, in a more modernistic manner. The New York business wear brand showcases an inside look to its first flagship store location outside the U.S. Located in the Aoyama district of Tokyo, the architectural environment of the store represents everything that the brand possesses; clean, sophisticated, and post-modern. Displayed on the exterior, sheet metal confinement platforms the store into another realm that our minds cannot seem to comprehend. That environment of post-modern minimalism really exhibits the brand’s aesthetic; on the interior, designer Masamichi Katayama designed a comfortability and progressiveness in surroundings that is Thom Browne. Please enjoy images from the flagship store, detailed below. For more information on the brand, please refer to Thom Browne.

Teranishi – Leather Goods

teranishi

Here, at The Southernmost Gentleman, while we like to present our readers with legendary noteworthy brands, we also enjoy showcasing compelling brands and products that you may not had the chance to notice. With that, we display to you a faultless brand in a visual fashion; with direction by Daniel Navetta and production by Co. ApK.

Teranishi, a bespoke leather good brand is impeccably fabricated by hands-craftsman, Teppei TeranishiTeranishi fabricates his outstanding leather pieces on Vashon Island, which is west of Seattle, Washington. The craftsman delineates more as to what inspires him to manufacture these compelling pieces:

“I find Vashon Island to be a really inspiring place to be just in general. I think it’s hard for me to really pinpoint how it translates into the goods I make and design here. But, I think it’s more of an overarching lifestyle influence,” says Teranishi.

With the products, you can really notice the accuracy and detail in the designs; something a man can be thoroughly proud to endure. One thing I have noticed amongst men is their hesitation to adapt gentleman bags into their wardrobe, in fear of emasculating their masculinity. However, Teranishi’s designs do nothing of the sort. In fact, they do the complete opposite, and help propel a man’s masculinity with these immaculate leather designs. Please enjoy the visual of Teranishi, and his designs, detailed below. For more information on the brand, please refer to Teranishi.

Adam Senn for Harry Rosen

senn

You may remember Adam Senn from The City, the 2008 MTV reality show that followed one of the show’s former cast members, Whitney Port, as she moved to New York City and her ventures there. However, this is predominately about Senn and his behind-the-scenes shoot on the set with Harry Rosen for Harry magazine S/S ’13. In the visual, we witness the model and entrepreneur delineate on clothing and his personal style.

“I feel like my style kind of goes through this little revolving door. At the moment, I’m into wearing something that I can wear in New York, whatever city I may be traveling to, Europe, but that I can also wear in Texas,” says Senn.

You cannot help but to notice the incredible styling in the visual. From shirts of printed floral, plaid jackets, seersucker, cardigans, and bold chinos. Senn also goes into detail as to what he likes in details, among other things that adhere to his style. Please enjoy the behind-the-scenes visual, detailed below.
